Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

  • VS Code Version: 1.96.4 (cd4ee3b, 2025-01-16T00:16:19.038Z)
  • OS Version: Linux arm64 6.6.54-05528-gdd4efe62d86b

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Put the cursor in the middle of the line without text selection
  2. Ctrl+c
  3. Ctrl+v

Expected result: new line is pasted on a new line above the cursor as it is documented and works on other OS.
Actual result: line is pasted in the position of cursor so in the middle of the line.

Previously I reported it as a comment #201929 (comment) on the existing issue #201929. But that issue was closed and I was advised #201929 (comment) to open a new issue instead.
