Are you using the latest Zotero and the latest plugin?

  • I have confirmed I'm using the latest Zotero and the latest plugin

Environment

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Zotero Version: 7.0.0-beta.52+2f8e536f2 (64-bit)
  • Plugin Version: 1.1.4-44

Describe the bug

I often switch between PDF tabs. When I do that, I want to keep the Item Pane on the right-hand side opened to see the Info tab with the metadata.
But if I switch from a PDF tab to the Note Workspace tab, it automatically switches to the Notes Pane. And it stays there when I go back to the PDF tab. So it has overwritten the view option that I had in the PDF tabs. I cannot see anymore the metadata of the item opened in the PDF tab.

Same if I close the Notes Pane in the Note Workspace tab, it also closes the right-hand pane in the PDF tab. This is not good: the display setting I have for the Notes Pane in the Note Workspace tab should not affect my ability to display the Info tab in the Item Pane for PDF tabs.

So the display settings of the Note Workspace tab should be indenpendant of the display settings in the PDF tab

Phenomenon visualization from two perspectives, the common lateral perspective and a bottom perspective, provided insights into the dynamics and formation mechanisms. Namely, the bottom shadowgraphs show capillary wavy patterns and perturbations imposed on the steady liquid film, which suggests a greater role of the liquid film in the onset of bubble encapsulation. Also, some considerations about the cavity development underneath the bubble limited by the solid wall allow concluding that the cavity shape is independent of the bubble encapsulation phenomenon. Additionally, using the bottom shadowgraphs, the crown closure time shows a systematic decrease in the dimensionless film thickness of 0.5 < δ f < 0.6, which will be subject of future work. Finally, while most drop impact correlations focus on using the droplets' characteristics and thermophysical properties, the experimental results point in a different direction. Considering correlations relating the Ohnesorge and Reynolds numbers, the new criterion for the onset of bubble encapsulation uses drop characteristics and properties in the Reynolds number, while the liquid film thickness and thermophysical properties are used in the Ohnesorge number because most of the crown material comes from the liquid film. Therefore, the criterion based on 100% occurrence of bubble encapsulation is not a threshold, but a range: k b e = l n ( 34.5 / R e D ) / l n ( O h f ), with k b e ∈ [ 1.022 , 1.142 ]. Other authors observed this phenomenon and despite being outside the validation range of this correlation, the values are close to their boundaries.","container-title":"Physics of Fluids","DOI":"10.1063/5.0138901","ISSN":"1070-6631","issue":"3","journalAbbreviation":"Physics of Fluids","page":"033305","source":"Silverchair","title":"Criterion for bubble encapsulation on drop impact onto a liquid film","URL":"https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0138901","volume":"35","author":[{"family":"Ribeiro","given":"D."},{"family":"Silva","given":"A. Previous understanding is that the motion is mainly dictated by viscous and capillary forces. Here we demonstrate that, in addition to these forces, drops on hydrophobic surfaces are affected by self-generated electrostatic forces. In a novel approach to determine forces on moving drops we imaged their trajectory when sliding down a tilted surface and apply the equation of motion. We found that drop motion on low-permittivity substrates is significantly influenced by electrostatic forces. Sliding drops deposit a negative charge on the surface, which interact with the positively charged drops. We derive an analytical model to describe the force and validate it by numerical computations. The results indicate how to describe and facilitate drop motion in applications, such as in microfluidics, water management on car surfaces, and the creation of sliding drop electrical generators.","DOI":"10.21203/rs.3.rs-737950/v1","source":"DOI.org (Crossref)","title":"Drop race: How electrostatic forces influence drop motion","title-short":"Drop race","URL":"https://www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-737950/v1","author":[{"family":"Li","given":"Xiaomei"},{"family":"Bista","given":"Pravash"},{"family":"Stetten","given":"Amy"},{"family":"Bonart","given":"Henning"},{"family":"Schür","given":"Maximilian"},{"family":"Hardt","given":"Steffen"},{"family":"Bodziony","given":"Francisco"},{"family":"Marschall","given":"Holger"},{"family":"Saal","given":"Alexander"},{"family":"Deng","given":"Xu"},{"family":"Berger","given":"Rüdiger"},{"family":"Weber","given":"Stefan"},{"family":"Butt","given":"Hans-Jürgen"}],"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2023",10,26]]},"issued":{"date-parts":[["2021",8,30]]}}}]},"doc":{"type":"doc","content":[{"type":"heading","attrs":{"level":1,"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null,"id":null},"content":[{"type":"text","text":"Test Workspace"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","marks":[{"type":"link","attrs":{"href":"zotero://note/u/CNBTSUW2/","title":null}}],"text":"“that, for” (Gordillo and Fontelos, 2007, p. 4)"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null}},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"highlight","attrs":{"annotation":{"attachmentURI":"http://zotero.org/users/265723/items/RZ9QRYY9","annotationKey":"IACZ6DM7","color":"#e56eee","pageLabel":"3","position":{"pageIndex":2,"rects":[[220.139,207.34,237.383,215.728]]},"citationItem":{"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/265723/items/MYT9N77M"],"locator":"3"}}},"content":[{"type":"text","text":"“1584”"}]},{"type":"text","text":" "},{"type":"citation","attrs":{"nodeID":"1dzvbOWl","version":0,"citation":{"citationItems":[{"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/265723/items/MYT9N77M"],"locator":"3"}],"properties":{}}}}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","text":"qs"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null}},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","text":"ssdqsd"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","marks":[{"type":"link","attrs":{"href":"zotero://note/u/B8LNY7YZ/","title":null}}],"text":"Test note"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","marks":[{"type":"link","attrs":{"href":"zotero://note/u/U6ZTLANR/","title":null}}],"text":"Test note - Phenomenon visualization from two perspectives, the common lateral perspective and a bottom perspective, provided insights into the dynamics and formation mechanisms. 4)"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null}},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"highlight","attrs":{"annotation":{"attachmentURI":"http://zotero.org/users/265723/items/RZ9QRYY9","annotationKey":"IACZ6DM7","color":"#e56eee","pageLabel":"3","position":{"pageIndex":2,"rects":[[220.139,207.34,237.383,215.728]]},"citationItem":{"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/265723/items/MYT9N77M"],"locator":"3"}}},"content":[{"type":"text","text":"“1584”"}]},{"type":"text","text":" "},{"type":"citation","attrs":{"nodeID":"1dzvbOWl","version":0,"citation":{"citationItems":[{"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/265723/items/MYT9N77M"],"locator":"3"}],"properties":{}}}}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","text":"qs"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null}},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","text":"ssdqsd"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","marks":[{"type":"link","attrs":{"href":"zotero://note/u/B8LNY7YZ/","title":null}}],"text":"Test note"}]},{"type":"paragraph","attrs":{"indent":null,"align":null,"dir":null},"content":[{"type":"text","marks":[{"type":"link","attrs":{"href":"zotero://note/u/U6ZTLANR/","title":null}}],"text":"Test note - I understand that the UI is fixed now in Zotero 7 Beta.
I just ping in advance if Z7 is stable enough.

I think it's no longer a thing in the latest beta (since the note tab and other tabs do not share the same context pane). Closed
