http://site.icu-project.org/download This is entirely untested, seems maybe this simple to upgrade.. [Unclear ot me if apt_versions needs updating; or should be in sync..] This isn't something I need or use, I just noticed Unicode 9.0 is now supported, so maybe useful (I know utf8proc already supports; this may not be needed, juts better with?).

Another thing; it's unclear if 49 (or 51, or even higher), is last supported version. http://site.icu-project.org/download For older you're missing out on bug fixes. Not sure, could be security issues? Maybe you do not want to support (but not newer) 50 and Unicode 6.2 as it's really old.. |

Now outdated with ICU 60.2 out (with e.g. Unicode 10.0 support). Not sure if there's some other package that needs an update, as this this one seems unmaintained. |

I'll be updating JuliaString/ICU.jl shortly, both to allow using ICU 60.2, and to work around breakage from Julia's #24999. |
I see it hasn't happened, ICU 64.2 now out with e.g. Unicode 12.0. Is ICU supported somewhere else, or simply not needed, with e.g. Julia 1.2 supporting Unicode 12.0. I know of your non-UTF-8 additional support. |
