  • I have searched for my issue and not found a work-in-progress/duplicate/resolved issue.
  • I have not been informed if the issue is resolved in a preview version of the winget client.

Category of the issue

Installation issue.

Brief description of your issue

Two issues with the Stardock Star11 install.

  1. The current installer on their CDN does not match the manifest installer hash
  2. Start11 v2+ should not upgrade v1 installs. I still use Start11 v1.5.5.0. Upgrading to v2 requires purchasing a new license for the software. If winget were to install Start11 v2+ on my computer, the software would stop working because I'm not licensed for it. Steps to reproduce

  1. Try to run winget install Stardock.Start11 or winget update Stardock.Start11

Actual behavior

Issue 1: Error saying Installer hash does not match; this cannot be overridden when running as admin
Issue 2: Winget attempts to update Start11 v1 to Start11v2

Expected behavior

Issue 1: Winget manifest is updated with the correct hash for the latest release of Start11 v2
Issue 2: Winget does not update Start 11 v1 to Start11 v2
